We do not bill your insurance at Recovery Sports Therapy. Most insurance companies place limits on when and how we treat you. We want the absolute best for you, so we choose not to bill your insurance and let them dictate your treatment. You pay us a flat rate for 30 or 60 minutes and we decide together the best course of treatment for you. This way, getting you better and back to doing what you love is our only priority. You are booked one on one with a doctor of Physical Therapy and you will never be booked with another patient at the same time. More recently, many insurance companies have raised copays and deductibles and physical therapy visits can get expensive and the bills can get confusing. If you have a high deductible, you will be responsible for paying for the therapy visits and most clinics that bill your insurance will tell you they don’t know what the final cost will be when you get the large bill weeks later. When you see us, you know the cost up front and can make a better informed decision. In addition, some treatments such as Dry Needling are not covered by most insurances and that is an added cost to your copay or deductible.

We are an “out of network” clinic. Some insurance policies have a benefit so you can see an out of network provider for physical therapy. If you have this benefit, we will provide you with a bill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Whether you will get partial or full reimbursement will depend on your specific plan.

In the state of Massachusetts, you do not need to see a doctor before heading to physical therapy for treatment. This is another benefit of seeing us at Recovery Sports Therapy, you can simply call and make an appointment instead of waiting to see your Primary care physician and/or another specialist. If you decide to submit your claim to your insurance after treatment with us, you may need to obtain one.

There is no additional cost for Dry Needling treatment with us. Keep in mind that if you choose to submit a claim to your insurance, they will likely not reimburse you for the dry needling portion.

The sooner you get treatment for an injury, the better. Prompt treatment will reduce the likelihood that the injury will become chronic. When an injury has been present for a prolonged  time, you can develop compensations or secondary problems due to not moving correctly and create a secondary problem.

We treat everything from headaches and neck pain to plantar fasciitis (heel pain) and most things in between! We treat new and old injuries and can help you prevent new ones. We treat the most common ailments such as lower back pain, shoulder pain or rotator cuff injuries, tennis or golfer’s elbow, wrist and thumb pain, hip issues and knee pain, ankle and foot problems among many others.

Yes, there are plenty of ways we can help you with scar tissue. A combination of manual therapy, Dry Needling, Cupping and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization can get the tissue moving again. Scar tissue is very variable among people so seeing the problem in person with a free consultation can give us a better idea of how we can help.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is the most common connective tissue disorder so we see that most often, but we are also experienced in seeing patients with Marfan’s syndrome and Stickler’s syndrome. If you have more specific questions about these connective tissue disorders or another one not mentioned here, we would be happy to speak with you to see how we can help. We also understand that many people with connective tissue disorders have other complex conditions such as dysautonomia or POTS and mast cell activation syndrome which can make exercise very difficult.
